Knitting and Crochet Basics
Have you ever wanted to make something out of virtually nothing? With so much of our lives being taken over by machines, sometimes we need to take a step back and create something with our own two hands. This 4 week course offers the perfect opportunity to learn such a beautiful and much-needed art form. We will dive into the basics of knitting, learning how to read patterns, and put your newfound skills to use making a unique water bottle cozy. By acquiring the skills to knit you will be saving a much-needed, dying hobby. And once you know how, be prepared for your friends and family to make lots of requests!

Fiber Arts
Imagine the softest dog you’ve ever touched. The fiber you will be working with in this class is even softer! I’m so excited to offer this class on fiber processing! I’m calling it that because there are so many different pathways we can take while we are learning about fiber. This class will be different every day you come. We will be working with alpaca fiber which is so soft and so much fun! We will clean and color the fiber, talk about carding (brushing the fibers) and spinning yarn, and my favorite thing to do with wool and fiber right now - felting! You will learn how to make felt with materials you have right at home! Come and enjoy this wonderful process from beginning to end!

Sewing Basics
If you’re intimidated by a needle and thread, this is the class for you! I believe everyone should learn how to use a sewing machine. It is such a blessing to be able to fix a pair of broken pants or quickly sew yourself a dress for a fancy event (even though it’s often never as quick as you want). This class will be focused a lot on the practical side of sewing. How to use a sewing machine, how to use a sewing pattern, and how to sew two pieces of fabric together. We will explore different types of fabric, how to cut straight pieces, and so much more. Your project for this class will be a beautiful puff pillow that will show off everything you learned!

The Art of Quilting
Let’s sew a quilt! This class will be less focused on “how to sew” (see sewing basics if that’s what you’re looking for) but rather, here we will work through the process of how to sew a quilt. By the end of this course you will take home a beautiful handmade quilt. We will walk you through how to make a few basic quilt blocks, how to make your quilt “sandwich,” and how to put the binding on as the finishing touch! All you will need is a working knowledge of a sewing machine. Beginners can join, but need to be quick at catching on and working on their feet!
